High Profile cases in small towns are big challenges

The 16th judicial district is working on several big cases this year, one of which, a murder trial in Bent county will require a jury. District Attorney Jim Bullock says during the selection process there are things they look for and things they obviously don’t want in a potential juror.

They want someone who can remain fair without any bias. Donald Busto will stand trial with a jury coming up in about eight weeks. Busto has been in the Bent County jail on charges of murder in the second degree, a felo

ny two, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a felony four and tampering with physical evidence, a felony six.
