Otero County Resident Takes Part in Bike to Work Day

It’s officially Bike to Work Day. Otero County resident and avid biker Stephanie Garbo says she’s taking part even though she has a ten mile one way commute.

Bike to Work Day is recognized and encouraged in many cities across the country, some dates are earlier in the spring. And while it might not be practical to use it to commute to work in southeast Colorado, many cities see it as a way to promote it. Out here, Garbo says she’s enjoyed it as a way to see this beautiful state and beyond.

Garbo says she hopes everyone watches out for bikes on the road and gives them a little extra room.
