Otero Sales Tax Collections are up from last year!

The shopping is certainly happening in Otero county. The sales tax collections show it anyway. County Administrator Amy White Tanabe says it’s good news for them.

County commissioner Keith Goodwin says those numbers might level out a bit next year, however. The mandatory on-lines sales tax collections began on January 1st of this year. Last year, there were businesses who stared collecting it. That is one of the biggest reasons county officials believe the collections are up. There was a 23 percent increase from last year at the same time.
