Four hits from Makenzee Pounds helped lead the way for the La Junta Lady Tigers over the Limon Lady Badgers 14-9 on Tuesday. Pounds singled in the first, singled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth. The Lady Badgers scored six runs in the sixth inning, but La Junta still managed to pull out the victory. Taylor Hokett, Ryann Eurich, Paige Hutsell, and Katelyn Tacha powered the big inning with RBIs. In the first inning, La Junta got their offense started. An error scored three runs for the Lady Tigers Madison Wiley was credited with the victory for La Junta. Wiley went seven innings, allowing nine runs on 12 hits and striking out nine. Hutsell took the loss for Limon. She allowed 11 hits and 14 runs over six innings, striking out five. La Junta totaled 11 hits. Pounds, Justina O'Canas, and Hunter Wallace each collected multiple hits for the Lady Tigers. Pounds went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead La Junta in hits. Jaylin Springer led La Junta with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases. Limon racked up 12 hits. Hutsell and Eurich each managed multiple hits. Hutsell led Limon with four hits in four at bats.
