Southeast Colorado Kids Learn Skills at Rodeo Bible Camp

Kids from Southeast Colorado and beyond brought their horses and courage to Hugo, Colorado to learn more about their rodeo events and the Christian faith. Wiley freshman Brooke Thompson says she learned a lot and just had fun too.

Ages ranged from eight to 18. Events were calf roping, tie down roping, steer wrestling or chute dogging, barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, ranch horse, and horsemanship. The camp is run by volunteers, some were past rodeo athletes, others were just community members hoping the kids would learn something and have a great time. The Valley Cowboy Church out of La Junta provides the Bible teachings for the camp.
